- Brendan Fraser as Rick Cabot, the polician that he likes vots medium racial politics.
- Sandrea Bullock as Jean Cabot, Rick's wife, she's racial and she was angry with Rick because he contract an immigrant(Daniel Ruiz) as a lock smith, knowing that immigrant boys, thiefs his car. When she falls off, of the stairs, any "friend" could help her, but an hispanic woman yes.
- Chris Bridges as Anthony, an African boy, who robs cars (Rick's car), with Peter.
- Larenz Tate as Peter Waters, Anthony's friend and partner-in-crime. He is also Detective Waters' younger brother. Like Anthony, he is a car thief. Peter ran away from home and is later shot to death by Officer Hansen.
- Don Cheadle as Detective Graham Waters, an African-American detective. His mother is very poor and she has a heroin addicton, and his brother is a criminal.
- Jennifer Esposito as Ria, is a Latina detective, is Graham's partner and girld friend.
- Ryan Philippe as Officer Tommy Hansen, a Los Angeles. Lastly, he reveals his own insecurities with other races (African-Americans in particular) through his treatment of Peter Waters.
- Matt Dillon as Officer John Ryan, a white police officer who molests Cameron's wife, because he thought that she had a weapon. Ryan is trying to get help for his father, who has an infection. He later saves Christine from a burning car.
- Thandie Newton as Christine Thayer, Cameron's wife. She is molested by Ryan and becomes furious with her husband because he didn't defend her. Then she had a car accident.
- Michael Peña as Daniel Ruiz, a locksmith who faces discrimination from Jean and others because he looks like gangster to them, when he is actually a devoted family man. Daniel loves his daughter, Lara.
- Shaun Tob as Farhad, Iranian store owner who is afraid for his safety. He is depicted as frustrated by the racial harassment he experiences in the United States.
